In 1956 Chuck Edwards teamed up with Tony Waters, Jim Sughrue and Jerry Smith to build this 1932 Ford Roadster. The car raced for two years at Bonneville running 192.30 mph in 1957 and 203.04 mph in 1958. Driving this D Class roadster in 1958, Tony Waters was the first person to do 200 mph in a roadster.

The car was retired in 1958. The roadster is now owned by Doug Edwards, son of one of the original owners, Chuck Edwards. The car is still the original Smokers purple. The engine is a blown DeSoto 341 CID hemi and, it has a quick-change Halibrand sprint car rear end.

The original timing tags from 1957 and 1958 remain affixed to the car and the paint is Smokers purple.
