Bill has had this car licensed in his name for 53 years — for 3 years while it was sitting he didn’t license it.  He said the CA DMV told him his ’57 held the record for the longest registered car by a single owner in California.  We enjoyed talking to Bill and learning about this ’57 and hope Bill gets a little less excitement from the car in the future. Here are a few more photos of Bill’s ’57: Those who brought cars to the show were kept busy looking and talking cars, but there were a lot of other things going on – starting at 7:00 a.m. with a Pancake Breakfast put on by the Brea Kiwanis.  Throughout the day there were games like the target shoot sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 801, a cake walk offered by the Brea Museum Historical Club,  as well as a pie eating contest sponsored by the Brea Lions Club, and a ping pong toss hosted by Troop 707.  Of course there was an abundance of food available including hamburgers, hot dogs, tacos, a Korean Bar-b-que as well as cold drinks to help everyone cool off on a warm summer day.  The kids were amused by a climbing rock, a bull ride and bubble rollers.   Also at the Fair was a petting zoo brought by the students from the LaHabra High School Raider Ranch FFA which included 3 baby goats (3-5 months old), 2 lambs (1 year old) and a  heifer (3 months old).  The animals loved the attention showered on them and the kids were delighted with the animals.  Several groups provided entertainment during the day including Anthony Rivera and Raining Horseshoes singing country western, House Party with the Top 40, Latin and Classic Rock performed by Chico and the Wonderelles sang songs from the 50’s and 60’s. And just to remind everyone what is being celebrated on the 4th of July,  Ben Franklin put in an appearance.  His appearance was a reminder of how this country got its start and the significance of the Declaration of Independence.               All of the above images, and more, are available on our SmugMug site.
