This striking 1948 Chevrolet pick-up, owned by Richard Day of Bakersfield, is pearl white with orange wheels and a ton of subtle body mods. Richard has had this truck since he was a 14 year-old high school student. The truck has gone through a couple reiterations, the most recent took 2 years, but was well worth the time spent.
This p/u sits on a TCI rolling chassis, sports a 350 crate motor, a 700 R4 transmission, and air bag suspension that lets it go down the road or in the weeds. Some of the body mods that give it a sleek, smooth look are a 2-1/2″ chop, a shaved and peaked hood, shaved gutters above the doors, shaved door handles, a custom rear roll pan, removal of the stainless window surrounds, filled holes in the bumper, and bottom of the bed stake pockets are molded to the bed sides. All these modifications go together to create one outstanding truck.
